We believe that our children’s ministry is an extension of the adult church. On Sunday our children experience worship, games, and a bible story in both a large and small group setting. This is a time for our children to learn to have a relationship with their creator. We provide a safe and secure environment where we have fun and learn about Jesus together!

River Buddies

The special needs ministry of River Kids.

Meet Alyssa Smashey, Our River Buddies Team Lead.

Our River Buddies ministry is an option for families with children that have been identified with special needs. We focus on inclusion and engagement so children who need extra support are paired with a 'buddy' for the service they attend.  Our river buddies attend the kids services in various classrooms to support kids in inclusion and engagement of the service. We also have a 'sensory room' if a 'buddy' recognizes that the child they are paired with needs some space to calm down they can utlize this room.

Families with special needs typically stay home from church because they feel like their kids are not welcome or couldn’t be handled in a kids program. We don’t want that, we want all families to feel welcome.

If you're new to River of Life and feel your child could benefit from a River Buddy, please let our welcome team know during check-ins.

If you'd like to touch based with Alyssa, you can email her at: a.smashey@rol-ag.com

What We Teach

In River Kids we use the KidMin Roadmap. We also encourage our parents to utilize our Parent Resource Wall located within our River Kids space. Here we post helpful resources for parenting and helpful tools for helping your child grow in their faith.

A recap of our weekly lessons are also posted on our Facebook Page each week.

REGISTRATION & CHECK-IN

Our goal is to provide a safe and easy drop off and pickup process. Enter through the front Family Entrance and head into the River Kids space. As you enter, you will see a check-in station with iPads and printers. Returning parents will print student tickets at the self-serve stations. First time visitors will meet with our welcome team to be added to the system and will be given a family specific bar code sticker to allow for a secure process.

Our check-ins begin at 8:45am for the 9am service and 10:45 for the 11am service.
